A Summer Kent Wedding

“We are completely thrilled with them, and you have done an incredible job capturing the emotion, joy & happiness of the occasion, thank you so much.   Feedback from everyone has been overwhelmingly positive, everyone mentions how natural & happy the photos are & how discreet you were on the day – so much so that a couple of people even asked why we didn’t have a photographer!”   Benjy and Hannah.

I’ve been fortunate to photograph a handful of Kent weddings this year where the reception is held at either the bride or groom’s childhood home.  The recent wedding of Benjy and Hannah was one of these, and it makes for a very special and personal setting to hold one of the biggest days of your lives.

I met Hannah at the beautiful Starborough Manor near Edenbridge where preparations where in full flow with the girls, parents and grandparents!  I do love to photograph this part of a wedding day, it’s always without fail jam packed with atmosphere and emotion which as a documentary wedding photographer I thrive on shooting.

I then made my way to St Mary’s Church in Cowden where Benjy and the boys were doing the meet and greet and the bell ringers were creating their magic.  Hannah arrived with her father in her stunning Manuel Mota Templo dress by Pronovias and after some reassuring words from the vicar the oak doors of the church opened for Hannah’s entrance.

After a great service umbrellas were raised due to the arrival of a bit of rain, which in turn made for some very cool confetti shots!  Everyone then made their way to Benjy’s childhood home up the road from the church, where a stunning marquee had been erected in the gardens (which Benjy’s folks had laboured tirelessly on throughout the year to make it look perfect, which let me tell you, it did!).   Speeches + cake cut + dance = a perfect finish to a perfect day.

As usual some of my favourite from the day follow.  If you are considering a similar Kent wedding please do get in touch via the contact page.
