This photograph was from the Kent wedding of Laura and Ed who got married at St Johns Church in Tunbridge Wells last year, before moving on to the reception at the lovely Buxted Park Hotel in East Sussex.

The reason why I love this picture is that it captures lots of moments all happening at the same time in a single frame (and I think I took just this single frame of this moment), from the kiss on the cheek to someone helping themselves to sandwiches!  As a documentary wedding photographer it’s shots like these that I love getting, everyone in the room going about getting ready for the day and me there just observing and photographing.

The morning preparations are always fun to shoot as there is always plenty going on and this comes across well in the pictures I find as it does in the one below.  Shooting with fast prime lenses and a Canon 5D mk2 means that low light wedding photography is never a problem, and using flash would simply ruin the atmosphere of a shot, whilst also being a big distraction to those around me who I am discreetly trying to get pictures of!
