Homemade weddings are getting more and more popular each year and I can see why. It’s as personal as it gets, and more often than not are held at either the bride or grooms childhood home. To photograph a homemade wedding is pretty special.
James and Kathy held their wedding day at Kathy’s parents beautiful home near Tunbridge Wells in Kent. A glorious summer’s day meant for a lovely setting out in the garden with a backdrop of apple orchards for good measure.
I love photographing garden weddings such as James and Kathy’s. Nearly everything I saw had been hand crafted either by themselves or by friends and family and nothing was overlooked.
At every wedding I put time aside to photograph the small intimate details that have been lovingly thought about, from a small flower on a napkin to a hand built sign post, it’s all important to document and these all stitch together to tell the story of a couple’s wedding day.
James and Kathy’s Kent garden wedding had details and love bursting at the seems.
