Check out this picture book perfect farm wedding photography. It’s full of colour, joy and laughter from the start to the end of the night! Charlotte and Ben are both from farming families and their wedding reception was held on Ben’s sheep farm. It made for a personal day surrounded by all the things they love from the moment the preparations began. The wedding dress was something to behold, make sure you take a look at the detailing. The couple also hired an incredible marquee for the reception. It had a clear ceiling so we were able to see the sunshine all day and the stars later on. Plus, we took a walk to the nearby fields to check on the sheep, and for some stunning couples portraits in the afternoon.

The day began with the morning preparations.  Everyone was so laid back and happy, spending time around the farmhouse enjoying the beautiful summers morning with a few bubbles. Rye Foreign, in East Sussex, is a gorgeous part of the country and was the perfect place to start the day. The dogs spent the morning around everyone. They are incredibly special to Charlotte – she even made a special homage to them on her dress. Take a careful look at the dress detail shots and you’ll see that tiny versions of the dogs had been embroidered into the top layer of Charlotte’s dress. I’ve never seen such a beautiful nod to man’s best friend before!

Charlotte is a talented ceramic artist in her own right, creating stunning pottery. If you check out her latest work, you’ll be able to see the rainbow colours that helped make up the wedding too.

Colour, joy and laughter

After hair and make up were complete, the bridal party were ready for the church. Ben and the guests waited patiently for the bride in the packed church. Peasmarsh Church dates from 1070 and almost a thousand years later was playing proud host to this local wedding. Following the ceremony, the bride and groom made a swift exit from the church to their grand, waiting vehicle. A John Deere 4×4 gator strewn in balloons. This is farm wedding photography – for a farmer and his wife – after all!

Charlotte and Ben were both super lovely and laid back. They wanted their day captured naturally and provided their guests with a day that was a true English country wedding, with Beatrix Potter and a whole heap of colourful fun. There were tea cups and champagne, raspberries and scrumptious canapes, alongside a hearty BBQ. Plus my personal favourite; a campfire surrounded by hay bales.

We were so lucky to have such a lovely sunny day for this farm wedding. As the sunlight fell for the night the raucous party began to finish the night off in style.
