I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Kelvin for a many a year through my work as a tv cameraman, he’s a chap that lights up the room wherever he goes and cracks a joke whenever he exhales. So when he asked me to photograph his and Roz’s wedding day at Cooling Castle I was honoured.
The Jools Holland owned barns makes a stunning Kent venue, and at Christmas time when Kelvin and Roz’s big day was, it gets the full monty of decorations applied.
Prep shots with Roz flew by and before we knew it she was walking down the aisle. Just before she did Kelvin received a lovely surprise in the form of a recorded song that Roz had secretly done for him. It was a truly special moment and not one I had witnessed at a wedding before.
Low, golden Winter light blessed my lens for some shots outside in the rural surroundings, before it was back inside to the warmth of the barn for the rest of the day.
