Hever Castle in Kent, childhood home of Anne Boleyn, is a stunning venue for a wedding and is always somewhere I look forward to photographing at.

Whether the ceremony is held in the beautiful Italian Gardens overlooking the huge lake, or within the castle itself, the photography opportunities are endless.  With all couples that I am lucky enough to work with, after the ceremony I suggest a simple wander around the surrounding grounds for about half an hour or so.  I never like to take them away for too long as their party not a photo shoot after all!  But this amount of time I find is perfect even in the largest of venues, of which Hever Castle is one in the Kent and East Sussex area.

This time is a nice moment of the day as its a small window of peace and quiet where the bride and groom can chat amongst themselves about the wedding ceremony and everything thats happened, and this relaxed chatting and walking comes across really well in a picture.  There is absolutely no need for crazy posing of the couple and is something I don’t do.  I’m not a huge fan of having my picture taken (hence why I hide behind a big camera!) and the thought of being posed would fill me with dread, so I like to always approach photographing this part of the wedding day as if were me on the other side of the lens.

If you are considering a Hever Castle wedding and would like to discuss photographic coverage, please feel free to contact me.

Thoughts welcome below as ever!
